How do I automatically set up the VoIP on the Nokia E Series?

You should check that you have configured your Wireless Access point (please see Configuring wireless LAN) and that you can browse the web over your Wifi connection.

Texting NOKIA to 64446

Now, please text NOKIA to 64446 to auto configure your E-series phone. Note that there is limited amount of auto-configuration we can do by sending an OTA message, since many settings are customer-specific and cannot be configured from our end.

After texting NOKIA to 64446, the following happens:

1. A user account is created to match the mobile number, in the format 447xxxxxxxxxx.
2. An SMS notifying them of their username and password is sent.
3. An OTA message is sent.
4. The user opens the OTA message.
5. Continue past the "settings from unsigned server" prompt and then press Options >> Save to save configurations

Defaul Profile and Registration settings:

1. Menu >> Tools >> Settings >> Connection >> SIP Settings >> Aql >> options >> Edit >> Default profile
2. Choose your desired default access point name.
3. Registration should be changed to Always on.

Configure Internet telephony settings:

Menu >> Tools >> Settings >> Connection >> Internet tel. settings
Options button >> New profile
Name Default
SIP profile Aql

To be able to use VoIP please set up the following:

1. Menu >> Tools >> Settings >> Call
2. Set the default call type to "Internet" as opposed to "Cellular"

Forcing a VoIP call:

1. Dial the number.
2. Options >> Call >> Internet call
3. The call is made over VoIP, display shows 123@sip.aql...
