How to set up Asterisk? A brief overview.

On this page is a brief overview on how to set-up your Asterisk server's configuration. All directories and files given are the default settings by Asterisk. If you move the directories of Asterisk you will need to change the commands accordingly.

First you will need to install and run Asterisk, please see the correct documentation on their website:
http://www.asterisk.org/

Second lets change directory to the configuration files:
cd /etc/asterisk/

Next, follow the appropriate link depending on what service you have purchased:
IAX-Trunk
SIP-Trunk
SIP
