Using an email client to send SMS messages
Send a regular email to a special email address at our system, which will convert it to an SMS message and deliver it.
The technical bit
Once our systems have received the request via our website or email, the message is created and routed to a SMSC (Short Message Service Centres) using the SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-peer Protocol) communication protocol.
The message is passed to the message centre for your destination network and delivered from there with GSM mobile technology.
If the user replies to the SMS text message the system transports the message in the opposite direction.
There are several different networks and servers that the messages needs to pass through in order to be delivered reliably. In order to ensure this, our systems are mirrored and monitored 24/7. We
also maintain multiple email to sms gateways to allow for fast throughput and delivery.
