Case Study 1. Sleek Networks Leverages High speed access from aql.

Based in Leeds, Sleek.net offer hosting, managed services and colocation to SME's. Sleek chose to use aql® metropolitan ethernet to provide the internet transit into their new Leeds Datacentre.

aql® worked closely with Sleek's team of network engineers to ensure smooth provision of a 1Gb/s circuit from aql's south Leeds POP to Sleek's Kirkstall Road site, a distance of approximately 2 miles. The fibre circuit was dug and provisioned within a calendar month.

The circuit allows Sleek access both to the aql® network and range of IP telephony opportunities, but also backhaul to their own choice of carriers in several London datacentres.

Case Study 2. K-Space offers tenants High speed access from aql.

Based in Sheffield and Leeds, K-Space offer luxury serviced apartments, bookable online 24/7 as an alternative to hotels and short lets.

K-Space involved aql® to plan and design their internet provision at an early stage. Because of aql's involvment and the proximity of K-Space's Leeds building to one of the aql® POP's, it was possible to provide a direct connection via new ductwork into the complex of 74 apartments.

The circuit delivers a true 100mb/s internet access experience and allows users to enjoy internet radio and TV services, along with internet telephony.

Case Study 3. Freedom4 uses aql wholesale IP Transit

Freedom4 Wifi provide a single-ticket/single-login wireless broadband solution to their tens of thousands of subscribers.

Freedom4's unique software allows a user to access the internet seamlessly via either 3g, gprs or wifi as needed. This complex offering is underpinned by a significant amount of data infrastructure.

aql® were chosen to provide a seamless layer two network between Freedom4's primary london site and their backup facility at aql® City Switch 1 in Leeds town centre.

The 100mb/s link allows an always-on solution to be maintained and provides geographic resilience which stands a close audit scrutiny and enables Freedom4 to maintain their dedication to quality and reliability.
